FAQs
Where’s the ‘schedule now’ button? Since my schedule rotates in order to keep slots open for first responders and other front line workers, I have found it difficult to keep one or two openings a week for consults. Drop me an email or give a call ~ we’ll find a time. Lisacurtis445@gmail.com or 914-329-5964
Does online therapy for substance related issues really work? Short answer: yes. Longer answer: if you want the help, regardless of how it shows up in your life, you’ll use it. I take full advantage of urine screens at local labs and home breathylzers for back-up. But I also know this ~ if you want to get around these supports, you will. Nothing is going to magically change until you or your loved one makes the decision to change.
How long are sessions? Generally speaking 48 – 52 minutes.
When is payment due? At the end of our session.
I have a Health Savings Account; can I use that? Yes, you can. I will get you all the necessary paperwork for you to submit on your end.
Do you take insurance? I’m currently in the process of leaving all insurance panels and will be off them by the end of the year.
What really happens in therapy? Great question. Therapy is really just a longer conversation, where your therapist holds space for you to talk out what you need to talk out. We’re also here to help you learn new skills, see a different perspective and offer our support.
I don’t know if I’m ready yet. That’s OK. You’ll be ready when you’re ready. If you’ve been mandated ~ by your partner, employer or the law ~ that stinks but it’s not the end of the world…you can start where you are now and take it from there.
